NW Innovation Works is proposing to construct and operate a methanol production plant in an industrial park owned by the Port of Kalama. The plant would manufacture methanol from natural gas. Natural gas will be delivered to the methanol plant by a new lateral distribution pipeline to be constructed by Northwest Pipeline GP. As part of the same development, the Port is proposing a new deep draft marine terminal facility to load methanol onto ships for transport.

Hello – The comment period is underway for the Kalama Manufacturing and Marine Terminal Facility Second Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SSEIS) and closes on October 2, 2020.  We have added one PHONE-IN public hearing intended for members of the public without reliable internet access. Participants will be able to provide oral comments only.

The phone-in public hearing will be held on September 23 at 6 pm. To attend, call Toll Free (844) 222-3810 or (360) 407-4030 (local) and use conference ID 4481906.

Please note, this hearing is audio only, there will be no presentation.  An Ecology staff person will read a summary of the greenhouse gas analysis and the results.  Callers will be able to give verbal comments after the summary. If you are able to, please attend one of the online webinars as we have limited spaces (250) for the phone-in meeting.

One public hearing was held today at 1 pm. Two additional online public hearings will be held on September 22 at 10 am and 6 pm. You can register online for the meetings on the project website.
